Professor Christos Xenakis participated in the panel discussion “Outpacing the Threat – Why Europe Needs a Unified Cyber Shield and How to Build It”, organized by the COcyber project.
The discussion brought together experts from academia, policy, and practice to address the current state of cross-border cybersecurity collaboration in Europe. The panel focused on existing challenges, remaining gaps, and concrete steps needed to strengthen cooperation and resilience across the continent.
Professor Xenakis shared his perspective on the importance of a more coordinated, proactive, and capability-driven European approach to cybersecurity. He highlighted the need for stronger collaboration, shared situational awareness, advanced cyber capabilities, and trusted partnerships among public authorities, academia, industry, and EU institutions.
His participation was supported by our project, both of which contribute to strengthening Europe’s cybersecurity capabilities through research, innovation, and collaboration.
