The AIAS project participated in the 1st CyberHammer Hackathon, held on 24 January 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal, alongside the CSP Winter School.
Organised by the cPAID project, the hackathon brought together students, researchers, cybersecurity professionals, and technology enthusiasts for a full day of collaboration, practical problem-solving, and innovation.
More than 30 participants, forming over 12 teams, worked on 25 cybersecurity challenges inspired by real-world scenarios and emerging digital threats. The challenges covered multiple cybersecurity domains, encouraging participants to combine theoretical knowledge with technical skills, creativity, strategic thinking, and teamwork.
AIAS’s participation reflects the project’s commitment to supporting hands-on cybersecurity education, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among European research and innovation initiatives. The event also provided an opportunity to raise awareness of the evolving threats affecting Artificial Intelligence systems and the importance of developing trustworthy, explainable, and resilient AI-enabled security solutions.
By participating in initiatives such as the CyberHammer Hackathon, AIAS contributes to strengthening cybersecurity skills and fostering a community capable of responding effectively to emerging cyber and adversarial AI threats.
The event’s practical and collaborative approach closely aligns with the AIAS vision of combining AI for Cybersecurity with Cybersecurity for AI, while supporting the next generation of cybersecurity researchers and professionals.
