As 2024 comes to a close, the AIAS project reflects on a year filled with groundbreaking advancements, engaging events, and valuable collaborations. Our mission to enhance AI security through adversarial defense mechanisms, deception strategies, and explainable AI has made significant strides, thanks to the dedication of our consortium members and partners.
Key Highlights of 2024
1. First Open Day Event
One of our flagship events this year was the AIAS Open Day, where we engaged with over 250 students. Co-located with the EU Researcher’s Night, this event provided an interactive platform for young minds to explore AI security through demos, hands-on sessions, and expert discussions.
2. Participation in Major AI & Research Events
AIAS was well-represented in several key scientific and research-oriented events:
- AI Workshop 2024 (July 2024): Our team actively participated, presenting our latest research on AI security and adversarial defenses.
- AIAS Technical Deep Dive in “AI Workshop 2024” – A specialized session where our experts shared insights into AI adversarial challenges and innovative defense mechanisms.
- Greek Researcher’s Night 2024 – AIAS took center stage, engaging with researchers and the public to discuss AI vulnerabilities and security solutions.
- Spanish European Researchers’ Night 2024 – We extended our outreach across Europe, showcasing our advancements in AI-driven cybersecurity.
- AIAS at Science Week 2024 – This event allowed us to bring AI security research closer to the broader scientific community.
- AIAS at the 1st Hellenic University Hack – AIAS supported and engaged with university students, demonstrating the application of AI security in real-world scenarios.
3. Secondments & Cross-Institutional Collaborations
Our project thrives on collaboration. Throughout 2024, multiple secondments took place, strengthening our research efforts and enabling knowledge exchange among consortium members. These secondments have been instrumental in refining our methodologies and fostering stronger academic and industry partnerships.
Looking Forward to 2025
As we step into 2025, AIAS remains committed to advancing the security of AI systems. Next year, we plan to:
- Expand our research on adversarial AI threats and mitigation strategies.
- Increase our presence in key AI and cybersecurity conferences.
- Continue fostering collaborations through secondments and joint research initiatives.
- Organize new hands-on workshops and public engagement activities.
We extend our gratitude to our partners, researchers, and all who contributed to AIAS in 2024. Stay tuned for more exciting developments in 2025!
